Wheaton: Cantigny Park will be showing a number of movies outdoors on Friday nights this summer. Next up is the “Harry Potter” prequel “Fantastic Beats and Where to Find Them” at the bandshell at 8:30 p.m. on Friday.

Get Outdoors Day
Geneva: In honor of National Get Outdoors Day, the Geneva Park District is hosting a variety of events for all ages and interests. Activities include kickball, lacrosse, martial arts, a scavenger hunt, solar fun, arts activities and even free evening admission to Sunset and Mill Creek pools. Activities run throughout the day at different parks and facilities.

Big Run Wolf Ranch
Elgin: Visit the Lords Park Zoo this weekend for a chance to see the animals of Big Run Wolf Ranch. Learn how wolves are different from our native coyotes. See both of these beautiful predators as well as a groundhog, skunk and porcupine at this special program at Lords Park Zoo, presented by Elgin Public Museum. No registration required.

Warrenville: Anglers 15 and under are invited to drop a line at the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County’s 31st annual Just for Kids Fishing Derby on Sunday at Silver Lake at Blackwell Forest Preserve in Warrenville. Kids can learn about fishing and advance their skills during this free family-friendly event. Prizes will be awarded to winners in four age groups for the largest fish in three species categories — bass, bluegill and miscellaneous — as well as to winners of the casting contest. Kids should bring their own gear; bait will be provided while supplies last. Participants can register online or at the derby. People registering at the derby can download and complete the registration form in advance if they wish.

Wheaton: Cantigny Park has four Family Concerts on Sundays this summer aimed at young children and their families. First up is the band Animal Farm at noon on Sunday.

Summer Concert Series
Geneva: The Geneva Commons is hosting its 15th annual Summer Concert Series on Sundays, Wednesdays and Fridays in June. All are free. Lawn chairs and blankets are welcome. The Friday show will feature the Neverly Brothers, presenting a guided history of rock music from 1955 to 1965. The Sunday show will feature HillBilly Rockstarz, Chicago’s very own country super group.
