Family Fun Night
NAPERVILLE: Family Fun Friday Nights at the DuPage Children’s Museum are designed to give busy families the opportunity to take advantage of its extended hours on Fridays during the school year. The Museum is open until 8 p.m., and visitors can enjoy a full museum experience with the whole family, including a special activity or performance on most Friday nights. This week is “Science Night,” featuring activities that involve a pulley swing, pinwheels, CO2 bubbles, digital microscopes and more.

ELGIN: The Marcus Theatres movie chain is presenting a “Disney Enchanted Tales” series on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays in February. The final entry in the lineup is the animated film “Alice in Wonderland.”

ELGIN: The Cook County Forest Preserve is hosting a “Winter Exploration Day” on Saturday at Rolling Knolls Forest Preserve in Elgin. Each event will feature winter-based activities including tracking local wildlife, flora identification, bird adaptation, exploration hikes, compass-based orienteering using primitive and modern methods, lantern and backpack building using natural materials and a campfire.

Hansel and Gretel
BATAVIA: The Batavia Public Library is hosting a musical production of “Hansel and Gretel ” on Saturday morning performed by Improv Playhouse. You’ll learn the tale of a hardworking carpenter, his adventurous children and a zany witch. No registration required.

ESO Family Concert
ELGIN: The Elgin Symphony Orchestra is offering one of its free “Family Concerts” on Sunday at the Gail Borden Public Library in Elgin. The theme this month is “Fused Art.” You need free tickets for this one, but they are available to anyone, regardless of your library district. Call the library at 847-742-2411 to reserve your tickets.
