I am late with the weekend planner, so here are some links to highlights of the weekend ahead. For free (or nearly free) fun in the water, check out the Go West Splash Park Guide. A trip to a farmer’s market or a French market can make a great family activity. And make sure to sign up for the free Go West email newsletter to stay “in the loop” on free activities, special events and insight into making the most of your family time this summer. I promise you won’t regret it!

Cantigny Park in Wheaton is showing “Guardians of the Galaxy” on Friday night. Included with regular $5 weekday parking fee.

The Alley Art Festival will take place on Water Street Mall in downtown Aurora on Saturday from noon to 5 p.m. Admission to the event is free.

The First Division Museum at Cantigny Park in Wheaton will reopen to the public on Saturday following an extensive 10-month renovation project. There will be live music on the parade field, a vintage photo booth with Army props, a Zoo to You exhibit, obstacle course and climbing wall, and more. Included with the $10 weekend parking fee.

Downtown Geneva will host the Concours d’Elegance, featuring antique, classic and modern automobiles, on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is free.

The Will County Fair is going on in Peotone through Sunday and Corn Fest continues in DeKalb through Sunday as well.
