But before you sign up, you’ll likely want to know a bit about what to expect:
Kids Obstacle Challenge is an adventure and obstacle course event series for kids ages 5-16, with 10 to 15 fun and challenging obstacles and lots of mud! It is the largest touring adventure and obstacle course event series for kids in the nation. And a unique feature is that parents get to run with their kids for free!
The mission of Kids Obstacle Challenge is to inspire and challenge kids, and forge family bonds, through adventure and obstacles. Its aim is to encourage kids to courageously face the obstacles they will encounter on the adventure courses and carry that courageousness over to obstacles they will encounter in life.
The Illinois event is being held on Saturday, June 24, at Lippold Park, located at 851 Route 176 in Crystal Lake, just west of Route 14.
Some of the obstacles you and your kids might encounter include a cargo net, rope swing, ball pit, mud crawl and more! There is no time limit – participants are urged to finish the course in a time that is safe and comfortable to them. Most finish in about 30 minutes or less. When you register, you are assigned to a timed “wave,” but after your wave, you can pay a $5 re-run fee and join in as many additional waves as you’d like.
You’ll find answers to other questions you might have on the FAQ page of the Kids Obstacle Course website.
Online registration is easily done here, and remember to use the code BEBRAVE20 for 20 percent off the registration fee. (Offer ends June 23 at 11:59 p.m. CDT.)
