When I brought you the list of Father-Daughter Dances, I promised a similar guide to Mother-Son Dances. But it turns out not all of them have a “dance” component — and there aren’t nearly as many of them. Here’s what I could find so far for 2017 … if you know of an event that should be featured here, please add it in the comment section!

GENEVA: The Geneva Park District is sponsoring a “Mom & Son Night” on Saturday, March 11, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Geneva High School. You’ll be able to dance, enjoy snacks and activities in between songs. The cost is $10 per person for residents, or $15 per person for non-residents. For more info, call 630-232-4542 or click here.
OSWEGO: Just in time for March Madness, The Oswegoland Park District is offering a “Mother Son Big Pig World Championships” basketball event on Saturday, March 18, from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. This year, the registration will be done by grade. Learn more here.
WEST CHICAGO: The West Chicago Park District is sponsoring a “Mom and Son Superhero Date Night” at the ARC Center on Saturday, April 29, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The night begins with a superhero craft and complimentary photo, then proceeds to dinner. CAROL STREAM: The Carol Stream Park District is sponsoring a “Mom & Son Prom Formal Dance” on Saturday, April 29, from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the Fountain View Recreation Center. There will be music, an entertainer, dancing, appetizers and a special dessert. Mom’s receive a special gift. Pre-registration by April 28. Fee is $15 per resident, $23 per non-resident. For more info, see Page 13 in the spring park district guide.
FALL EVENTS: The Batavia Park District in the past has hosted a wagon ride for moms and sons in late September. I’ll try to share that info with readers if it is planned again for 2017. Same for the Fox Valley Park District, which has in past years hosted a “Mom and Son Hayride” at Blackberry Farm in October. So look for details on those events later this year!
