Join Go West Young Mom at a Park Party at the Sensory Garden Playground!

Tuesday, Apr 11th, 2017 by

Are you ready to have some springtime fun with your kiddies? Then you should plan to attend the Go West Young Mom & Sensory Garden Playground Park Party on Friday, April 28, from 10 a.m. to noon.

This is a fun FREE event being held in conjunction with the Wheaton Park District as part of its celebrations for the Week of the Young Child. We’ll be meeting at the Sensory Garden Playground, located at 2751 Navistar Drive in Lisle. The playground is an initiative of the Play for All Playground & Garden Foundation; its mission is to create barrier-free, universally-accessible outdoor playspaces and gardens for children of all abilities in DuPage County.

The Sensory Garden Playground, a 40-acre facility, is being created in four stages. Phase I opened in spring 2015, and it features a sound garden, fragrance garden and a pony stables-themed playground aimed at kids ages 2 through 5. (You can read a Go West review of the Sensory Garden Playground here.)

You are encouraged to pack a picnic lunch and drinks to enjoy at the Sensory Garden Playground. Kilwins of Wheaton will be providing free popcorn. Bring some friends or neighbors along, or come on your own – you and your kids are sure to make some new friends. The first 50 Go West readers to arrive will get a goodie bag from the Wheaton Park District.

We will also be holding raffles for:

  • Passes for Brookfield Zoo’s upcoming Dinos & Dragons exhibit.
  • A Wheaton Park District goodie bag with pool, zoo, and mini golf passes.

Note that in the event of inclement weather, cancellations or delays will be posted to the Facebook page of Go West Young Mom and the Facebook event, but we’re hoping for sunny days and clear skies!

Our Park Party at the Sensory Garden Playground is still a couple of weeks away, so we’ll continue to share updated information here on and our Facebook page.
