Kline Creek Farm
Your family is invited to pack a picnic dinner and enjoy horse-drawn hayrides and Kline Creek Farm at dusk at “Evening in the Country” on Thursdays from June 1 through Aug. 31 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the1890s living history farm in West Chicago.
“Evening in the Country” offers several ways to enjoy the farm in the cool of twilight. There are acres of open space to hike, run and play, and visitors interested in a more leisurely pace can sit in a glider swing under the shade of a magnolia tree, enjoy the gardens and visit the animals. Guests can top off the evening with a 30-minute horse-drawn wagon ride.
Admission to this all-ages program is free. Wagon rides are $5 per person for ages 5 and up and free for children under 5; adults must accompany children under 13. Registration is not required. For more information, call Kline Creek Farm at 630-876-5900 or visit dupageforest.org.
(Note: On June 29, Kline Creek Farm’s annual “Celebrating the Fourth” program will begin at 1:30 p.m. with games and activities, continuing through 8 p.m. with “Evening in the Country.”)
