This summer, Kline Creek Farm, the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County’s 1890s living-history farm at 1N600 County Farm Road in West Chicago, invites children of all ages to “Children’s Farm Chores” starting June 2.

“Children’s Farm Chores” takes place Mondays and Thursdays June 2 – Aug. 28 at 1:30, 2:30 and 3:30 p.m. Children can help with real farm work, such as washing laundry by hand and hanging it up to dry or making rope to use around the farm. Mondays will feature chores to help mom; Thursdays, dad.

The event is free, and registration is not required. For more information, call 630-876-5900 or visit dupageforest.org.

Kline Creek Farm also invites families to explore the rest of the historic farmstead, from the orchard that houses the farm’s honeybee hives to the pastures where animals graze. Farmhouse tours are on the hour, and seasonal summer activities show what life was like on the farm over 100 years ago.
