This summer, Kline Creek Farm, the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County’s 1890s living-history farm at 1N600 County Farm Road in West Chicago, invites children of all ages to “Children’s Story Hour”  starting June 5.

“Children’s Story Hour” takes place Mondays June 5 – Aug. 21 at 10 a.m. Families can spread their blankets under a shady tree near the farmhouse for stories from the 1890s featuring Tom Sawyer, Peter Rabbit and Princess Scheherazade.

The storytime is free, and registration is not required. For more information, call 630-876-5900 or visit dupageforest.org. Kline Creek Farm also invites families to explore the rest of the historic farmstead, from the orchard that houses the farm’s honeybee hives to the pastures where animals graze. Farmhouse tours are on the hour, and seasonal summer activities show what life was like on the farm over 100 years ago.
