With Turkey Day just a couple weeks away, contributor Rebecca Greco shares an easy Thanksgiving craft to make with your toddler or preschooler.

This guy is inspired by a frog puppet we made at the Culture Stock story time in Aurora. It went over really well, especially on Pinterest. My daughter Evie really likes making puppets and I think the turkey worked out well with the bag.

What you need are:
Brown paper lunch bag
Glue sticks
White and black paper circles
Feathers (I used 7 feathers, it felt like a good amount. I cut them out of various browns, oranges, and yellow papers.)
Yellow triangle
Red wattler (I had to search to find the right term)

First we glued the feathers onto the back of the bag. Next we added the gobbler, make sure to glue it under the bag’s flap. The beak goes on above the flap, overlapping the wattler. Finally, glue the pupils onto the whites of the eye and attach them.

It was a really fun, easy craft that Evie really enjoyed. It was worth doing to hear her running around with her puppet saying “gobble gobble!”
