Editor’s Note: The following is a sponsored post brought to you by the Wheaton Park District.
Cosley Zoo in Wheaton is always a wonderful place to spend a morning or afternoon with children, but it offers something special every single day this month – Pumpkin Fest!
You can visit the animals in the crisp fall air, listen to the squeals of excitement from the children conquering the straw pyramid and take in the thousands of pumpkins scattered on the zoo’s lawn. Children’s carnival-style rides (very mild rides!) are also available during Pumpkin Fest.
Trees on the zoo grounds are showing their beautiful fall colors. Apples, gourds, pumpkins, cider, cornstalks, and various sizes of straw bales are available to purchase. Be sure and check out the fall merchandise in the Wild Side Gift Shop, too. Proceeds from your purchases benefit the Cosley Foundation, Inc.
Pumpkin Fest will occur throughout the entire month of October, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Regular admission rates apply: $7 for non-resident adults, $6 for non-resident adults over the age of 55 and free for kids from birth to age 17. (Wheaton Park District residents get in free to the zoo.) Children’s rides will require an additional fee.
Daily through the month of October from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
