Batavia Park District’s annual Touch-a-Truck Day will be held on May 15, 2015, at 10:30 a.m. at the Eastside Community Center parking lot. This is a free event.
May 16, 2015
The Bloomingdale Park District is hosting a “Kite Fly and Touch-a-Truck” event on Saturday, May 16, from 10 a..m. to noon at Springfield Park, 269 Springfield Drive. Kites will be available to purchase.
Police cars will be on display Saturday, May 16, at “Just Play!” a sports and recreation festival put together by the Carol Stream Park District. The cars will be displayed in the public safety zone, and the festival is being held at the Carol Stream Town Center from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is free to “Just Play!”
June 6, 2015
The West Chicago Park District and West Chicago Police Department will sponsor a Touch-a-Truck event in the Turtle Splash Water Park parking lot (129 W. National Street) on Saturday, June 6, 2015, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. There will also be food, giveaways and other family fun. This is a free event.
The village of Hanover Park is sponsoring a Touch-a-Truck Festival on Saturday, June 6, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Metra Station Parking Lot at Barrington Road and Lake Street. Expect to see vehicles from the police, fire and public works departments. There is no fee to attend this event.

The Roselle Park District’s Touch-a-Truck event will feature fire engines, police cars, semi-trucks and construction equipment. Plus there will be food trucks on site with food and desserts available for purchase. It’s scheduled for Saturday, June 13, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Turner Park in Roselle. This is a free event and no registration required.

PrairieFest, put on by the Oswegoland Park District, offers a “Wheels Go ‘Round” event during which “little-size kids can meet big-size vehicles.” It will be held on Friday, June 19, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on the grounds of Prairie Point Park. The annual Chicagoland Emergency Vehicle Show is scheduled for Aug. 7-9, 2015, in Aurora, and is a great opportunity to see all sorts of vehicles up close.

The St. Charles Park District hosts an annual “Big Truck Show” at James O. Breen Community Park. This year it is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 8, from 10 a.m. to noon. It is free; the park district says advance registration is required, but I want to get some clarity on that. The code is 29650; check the park district’s summer brochure on page 9 for more details.

The Elgin Fire Corps and CERT Safety Expo will feature a “Touch-a-Truck” event on Saturday, Aug. 22, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Elgin Sam’s Club at 1000 S. Randall Road. You can also grill out with Elgin firefighters and police officers, learn about fire prevention and emergency prep, enjoy the Elgin Fire Museum display and more. This is a free event.

The city of Yorkville traditionally holds a Touch-a-Truck event as part of its Hometown Days Festival, this year scheduled for Sept. 4- 6, 2015. According to the schedule, a Touch-a-Truck event will be held all weekend long in the Rush-Copley Family Activities Area.

Sept. 26, 2015:
The Sycamore Park District host a Touch-a-Truck event in September, and this year the event is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 26. It is a free event. More info should be in the district’s fall brochure.
Oct. 3, 2015
The Sugar Grove Park District is planning a brand-new community event, a kite festival, for Saturday, Oct. 3. Part of the planned festivities is a Touch-a-Truck event. More info will be shared as the event gets closer, likely on the event’s Facebook page.

The Wheaton Park District traditionally offers a “Trick-or-Trunk” event as part of its Halloween Happening in mid-October. The schedule is still being finalized.
Yorkville’s Chamber of Commerce features a Touch-a-Truck event as part of its “Biz Boo!” event in late October. The schedule is still being finalized.
